I have always had a passion for helping others, especially those who feel like nothing else can be done. I played all different types of sports growing up in America, ranging from soccer (football) to basketball to American football and to baseball. Eventually, I began playing baseball at a high level at university, and I suffered several types of injuries such as shoulder issues, elbow problems, knee problems, but most importantly, several head injuries and whiplash. Being young, I brushed off these injuries and got back to playing as soon as I could. At the time, I knew very little about how old injuries can snowball into bigger problens later in life.

After being primarily treated for symptoms and not causes, I eventually discovered chiropractic care. I was amazed that I could get such relief from symptoms I never thought were related to each other. As I started and continued my studies at Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri, I came to find out the why, what, where, and how these symptoms were related. The common denominator for a lot of my problems came from various uncorrected spinal issues, but most importantly, the whiplash and brain injuries I sustained when I was younger. Eventually, once I took my first neuroanatomy course at Logan University, my studies catapulted upwards.

I was able to take internships at Scott Air Force Base where I was able to treat and manage active duty military members in the US, as well as at Bluetail Medical Group where I was able to help out, and learn from, the leading medical doctors and experts in regenerative medicine. I observed and learned about stem cell and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections for anything ranging from sports injuries to 80 year old pensioners.

With my wide array of experiences in health care in general, my focus on whiplash and head injury, I eventually moved to England in 2017, and to Colchester in 2020. Having worked with Wayne for the last 4 years, we are both passionate about helping others and taking on challenging cases, using the central nervous system as the main catalyst to improve chronic and acute neuromusculoskeletal conditions. I am always learning and growing with each and every case that comes in, and I have a passion for education you, the patient, about every aspect of your condition.

I come from a small town in Southern Africa and remember how my parents, who were farmers, drove hours to take me to the local chiropractor for my adjustments. As a little boy in rural Africa, it seemed like magic how this man with massive hands could gently move my spine and help me get healthy and stay healthy. I suppose it’s then that I realised that I wanted to do what he does, I wanted to help people.

I graduated from Durban University of Technology in Durban, South Africa completing my master’s research in 2005. I opened my first Chiropractic clinic in Nov 2005 in the lovely coastal Town of Hermanus. During my time in South Africa, I was fortunate enough to be involved with the South African Cycling team on International tours to multiple destinations. In 2008 we decided to spread our wings abroad to Bangor Northern Ireland where I managed the Bangor Chiropractic Clinic. I completed my post-graduate training with the Carrick Institute of Clinical Neuroscience and Rehabilitation in 2015 and after vigorous testing was accepted as a member of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurologists. I am currently continuing my training in clinical neuroscience and rehabilitation and enjoy working with people who require treatment for neurological symptoms.

I am surprised every day by how amazing the human body responds to care and sometimes at how resilient it is in response to the abuse we hand it. One thing is for certain, none of us can function without our nervous system and taking care of it involves many different facets. My role is to help you return to the best possible function and influence your health for the better keeping in mind your goals and the reality of your current health status. I believe in finding the cause, helping people understand it and taking the steps necessary to provide a long term solution, not purely symptomatic relief but long term sustainable outcomes. Therapy in collaboration with other health care providers is essential and we are happy to work with your doctors to get you the best possible outcomes

Just like any South African I grew up with sport in my veins and played for local rugby clubs wherever we travelled. I live an active life and compete in Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit but love spending days outdoors.

I believe that we should do whatever we can to maintain a level of health that allows us to reach our full potential. Having said that we are committed to providing care and advice in the best interest of the patient.
